Hey Y'All back once again! Firstly I will apologize to everyone who has been waiting for this weeks shows! This weekend was a real nightmare for me and after three rounds of smooth sailing this went a bit pair shaped to say the least...
Allan decide to stay home this trip as we all know a great film maker that lives 20 minutes from Lakes. We got together and though that he might as well do the filming and then we can send the tapes through to Allan to do his usual edit. Saturday worked out great and Kam and I nailed our intro's and wrapped things up pretty quick.
Saturday night gave us the oppurtuntiy to let our hair down a bit with the whole team from Lusty (the guys that bring Go Pro, OGIO, Flud Watches, Racer X and more into the country) and we all met in Newy for a good feed. I decided to be the smart one of the group and drove!
Dinner was a laugh to say they least and we all had a ton of fun. We got word some how that Aussie "Pop-Rockers" Something with numbers was playing at the Panthers Club and we all got in the car to check it out. It just so happens that they are one of my favorite bands so I had a ton of fun rocking out to some great tunes.
We were all pumped going into Sunday but had some tired eyes after the late night but we just covered that up with out Electric Visual sunnies and we were set to go. This is when it all started to go down hill.....
I had rented the camera off a good friend of mine but it turns out that the charger for our batteries decided to only semi-charge our supply! This was a major problem and by the mid way point of the first moto of the day we were out of Ammo!
This meant that I spent the day begging, borrowing and stealing batteries from anyone that I could until we got some charge of our own and I think I ended up doing about 9 k's worth of running throughout the day. Through all this though Josh, from Black Phoenix Films, was a champ and soldiered on the whole day. It was a big team effort and in the end we got what we needed.
Now to the other problem that really put the train off the rails....
During the break we had to catch up with Tye Simmonds for his interview but we realized that he was supposed to be in staging at 2:00pm not 2:30pm so we all raced out of the truck to make the start. In doing this I left my jacket in the truck that had a key tape with the majority of our interviews on it.
As I was leaving the track I had realised what had happened but had no clue where the tape went or where I left my jacket. There is a lo riding on this show for me and it was pretty much the most stressful 24 hours I have ever had. To think that I had lost that tape made me feel sick.
So after a pretty sleepless night and a Chilli schnaps shot, thanks guys you all rock, I was pretty well over it.
This is when Ross McWatters came to the rescue and rang me to let me know that he had the tape and was going to post it to where ever we needed, thanks Ross.
So that was the weekend.
I am in Cessnock right now and we are just about to ride the 2010 Yamaha's and I can't wait. They look unreal and the track is pretty cool too.
I have been kept pretty busy filming some cool little video parts that you will see pop up on MXDaily pretty soon so keep looking and I will do another blog with what else has been going on...
Thanks for reading once again.
