So Lawson, your on a bit of a holiday after the Brissie Super X....What have you been up to the last week or so?
Yep well after Brissy I stayed in QLD for a few days with my brother and girlfriend went bungy jumping hung out in surfers and did the theme park thing.. and on the weekend I went to my mechanics wedding in Newcastle and I was a groomsmen for that so that was pretty cool.. I haven't really stopped actually!
So when are you looking to get back into your normal routine? After Christmas I guess?
Yeah I am pretty much going to have a full 2 weeks away from riding and training, then start riding again. Sometimes you need to just step away from it a bit, I think at the start of this year I might have went a bit too hard and got burned out a bit.
That's a fair call, I guess as you get a bit more experience as a pro you learn what work for you right?
Oh yeah, you really have to time your training just right!
So what's your deal next year, this years silly season has been crazy!
(Laughs) Well I'm still sorting out my options hopefully, I'll have it done by the end of this week!
Well what are you options Lawson? (Laughs)
Umm, Gas Gas has offer me a ride and so have Aprillia (Laughs) I will tell you when I have signed!
(Ed NOTE: Lawson was only joking about this! It was his way of deflecting the question)
Fair enough! Do you think like you deserve a ride after a really solid year this year?
Yep! It's kind of a bad year next year though, a lot of guys will miss out on rides with the economy being so shit and a lot of guys not getting paid not as much as they have in the past...
Yeah it is a tough time that's for sure. Lets talk about Super X, it was a pretty good season so for you aye!
Yeah I have been awesome, a lot of really big guys are throwing money into it and it's getting a lot more professional which is great to see. This year there was a few Americans who came out as well and I think Reedy's done a really good job!
As far as your performance though you would have to be happy, you got some wins, some podiums and then you finished strong overall.
Yeah I am pretty happy I guess, it sucked to come into the series with hardly any bike time but that's all a part of it I guess. Oh, and I wish Mossy didn't win every race!
So going into 2010 you must be pretty confident about your chances of winning a title!
Yeah I hope next year goes good, I just got to worry about myself and it is all about consistency and starts with me! My starts this year sucked so I have to work on them and a few other things. I am already keen for the nationals for 2010 though!
Well I guess we will leave you to your holiday! Is there anyone you would like to thank for helping you out in 2009?
Yeah, a huge thanks to Team Shift Motul Suzuki Development and all the team sponsors. Spy, Mum and Dad, Chris Woods my mechanic and his whole family. Plus the whole Tisdale family, I am really thankful for there support over the years!
